Vista Center Client Brings White Canes to Kenya
White canes donated by Vista Center are now helping blind students and adults in Nairobi, Kenya, thanks to the efforts of one of our clients, Mr. Abdihakiin Ahmed. Ahmed, a Somalia native who has congenital glaucoma, received cane training with Vista Center mobility teachers after he immigrated to the United States. This past November he returned to Africa to re-unite with friends in Kenya. There he visited both the Society for the Blind and the School for the Blind in Nairobi, delivering refurbished white canes from Vista Center.
